Furret is a long, ferret-shaped normal-type Pokemon introduced in Gen 2 and featured in later games, including New Pokemon Snap. It evolves from the round, raccoon-like Pokemon Sentret, also normal-type, and can be found in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl by capturing a Sentret using Poke Radar and evolving it.

The current version of the stream, uploaded by YouTuber 11pixels and titled “Furret on an Escalator until Diamond & Pearl remakes are released,” shows a 3D Furret model scampering up the banister of an escalator going down. The result is an endless loop that promises to continue until the launch of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Perhaps the decision to put the Furret on the banister instead of the stairs was made to keep the Furret looking relatively realistic against the background of live-action footage. It’s difficult to say, especially considering that the current stream seems to be run by someone other than the fan who first started it.
According to the video description, the current version of the stream is actually the third version–the original was started by a user known as Anoyth on May 15, 2019. Apparently, the stream was restarted twice, first on October 28, 2019, and then a second time on June 26, 2020, which is presumably the version currently streaming. 11pixels states clearly in the video description that viewers shouldn’t expect anything special at the end of the stream, which is scheduled to arrive when Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are released and not before.
As the big day draws nearer, Furret grows closer and closer to finally reaching its destination. Soon, the stream will likely end forever, though the 3D Furret model and escalator footage will be available for other fans to use. This stream may serve as a welcome reminder to some fans that although there have been complaints about the limited scope of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the anticipation for the Sinnoh remakes is very real and dates back years.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl release November 19 on Nintendo Switch.
