Chelsea’s kit has always been a distinctive one, with the rich blue unmissable, which is why making it better each year is always a challenge, but this year Adidas have brilliantly managed to come up with a successful uniform. With that in mind, let’s have a look at the Chelsea 2015-2016 kits.

The Home Kit

The most obvious new detail about Chelsea’s kit is of course the change of sponsor, which is now Japanese firm Yokohama Tyres, who have replaced previous sponsor Samsung in a deal worth £200 million – the second most lucrative kit deal in Premier League history after Manchester United. Yokohama’s logo is quite attractive and blends in perfectly with the distinctive dark blue, giving the jersey a rich new look. The collar is another thing that’s different this term and gets a blue, white and green touch up. Pinstripes have also been added, which must mean that the club really means business this season.

The Away Kit

This is undoubtedly the most attractive kit of the three. The most striking feature is of course obtained from the wonderful sleeves which have been coloured red, white and blue which gives it an extremely distinctive look. The Yokohama logo along with the club crest and Adidas logo blends in flawlessly with the white background. The blue strip at the bottom is also an added bonus. Some of the away kits of the big clubs have been truly brilliant this season, but this one really does stand out. Chelsea fans feel proud.

The Third Kit

Third kits are almost unfortunately overshadowed by their two other peers, but this one has a nice ring to it. The beautiful, rich basic black is far from bland and comes with a highly attractive white band on both the sleeves as well as the distinctive white Adidas stripes on the shoulders. Once again, the Yokohama logo manages to blend in almost perfectly on the jersey’s chest area. As I said before, third kits aren’t usually preferred at the first go, but this one makes a strong case for a place in a fans shopping cart.

All three variants of the jersey will be integrated with Adidas’ incredible Climacool technology, which helps players beat the heat associated with football’s all action approach. All in all fans will be delighted with the jerseys this term as they look forward to cheering their team to further glories. Fans in India can pick up one for themselves too at any Adidas store near them. The flamboyant tagline accompanying the jerseys which goes “If it’s not blue it will be” really states the clubs intentions this season, but whether they play as vibrantly as their jerseys throughout the year remains to be seen.
